Perth Airport Pty Ltd awarded the main construction contract for the largest component of the Perth Airport redevelopment to Built Environs, part of the McConnell Dowell Group. The responsibility for the structural steel detailing has subsequently been awarded to Rapid Alliance.
The $100 million expansion of the international departures area has commenced and will give the airport the capacity to take the Airbus A380 and Virgin Australia's A330 in 2014.
