Perth Airport Pty Ltd awarded the main construction contract for the largest component of the Perth Airport redevelopment to Built Environs, part of the McConnell Dowell Group. The responsibility for the structural steel detailing has subsequently been awarded to Rapid Alliance.

The $100 million expansion of the international departures area has commenced and will give the airport the capacity to take the Airbus A380 and Virgin Australia's A330 in 2014.

 
 

BGC Brickplant

This is the BGC Brickplant by Minspec, a mineral process equipment supply specialist. The project was undertaken using the latest Tekla Structures software and in conjunction with Navis Works software. In total the project consisted of 27 indoor conveyors, ranging from simple flat transfer conveyors to complex curved conveyors.

 
 

Ravensthorpe Mine

This is the Ravensthorpe Recommissioned Mine for FQM designed by Lycopdium.
Work undertaken detailing 600T of steel of the recommissioned Ravensthorpe Mine including two crushing plants and changes to the crushing, conveying, stockpile and reclaims areas.

 
 

BHP Billiton Product and Capacity Expansion Project

This is the BHP Billiton Product and Capacity Expansion Project for MPDJV
Provision of 3D Modeling and detailing of structural and mechanical steelwork for BHP Billiton’s Western Stockyard and Sample Station. The project included 15 conveyors, 4 transfer stations and 3 sample stations. Detailing scope was in excess of 24,000 manhours. Work scope included conveyor trusses and trestles, platework and heavy structural steel, and required production of approximately 20,000 drawings.

 
 

Building 44 - Alcoa Pinjarra Efficiency Upgrade Project

This is Building 44 designed by Hatch for the Alcoa Pinjarra Efficiency Upgrade Project.
The building was 1300 tonnes and utilised clip angle connections for almost all connections to minimise welding and make it almost entirely fabricated using a beam line.
